40 years ago, Raymond W. Leclerc, had a vision of an entirely new sport; ice hockey played without ice.

Calling on his love of hockey, his Canadian heritage, and 20 years of toy manufacturing experience, he created the street hockey concept and in 1970, he launched the Mylec Corporation.

Since then, Mylec has been a pioneer in the street hockey industry and can be credited with creating the first hockey ball, the first plastic bladed stick and the first plastic playing surface. Today, Mylec offers a wide range of products for street and roller hockey, as well as other sports and flooring products.

For the past 40 years, our goal has been to produce products consumers want, ship on time, and make the whole process as "trouble free" as possible. We continue to maintain a focused and efficient operation. The Mylec brand has been unrivaled among consumers, and we continue to enjoy strong product loyalty.

Mylec Teams Up with NY Islanders for Street Hockey Clinic

ASHI, The NY Islanders, Mylec, Modells and the Town of Riverhead all had another great turnout this past Saturday for a day of street hockey. Over 30 kids came out to play. A special thank you to the Islander's Matt Moulson who took the time to come out and participate in the clinics and interact with his fans. Leagues will be forming in at the Stotzky Rink in Riverhead this year. More info in the coming weeks.

Mylec's G-Force Liquid Filled Balls have once again been chosen as the offical ball of Hockey Night in Canada's Play On street hockey tournament. Over 500,000 players have participated in Play On since it's inception in 2003 and Mylec has been the official ball of every one of these events. Mylec Teams up with Bluejackets

Mylec produces custom sticks for many NHL teams' fan development and youth hockey development initiatives. Recently we worked with the Columbus Bluejackets on a custom jet flo stick that they use in their Hockey To Go program. They can be seen here on the side of the Bluejackets box truck. We commend the Bluejackets for their efforts to bring the game of street hockey to more kids throughout their market.

Spring sign ups for all ages groups will be over three weekends for the National Dekhockey Center in Winchendon, MA. The dates are Sat and Sunday from 9AM - 1PM on Feb. 25 & 26, March 3 & 4 and March 10 & 11. The rink is located on route 140 across from the Irving gas station. Rinks are behind the Mylec factory. Celtics Take Inaugural Event in Winchendon, MA

The new National Dekhockey Center in Winchendon, MA kicked off it's grand opening with a 4 on 4 Men's Tournament this past Saturday. In a rain soaked day the Hudson Celtics captured the A bracket with a 7-2 victory over the Leominster Flyers. The Leominster Elite won the B bracket 4-1 over the WDC Flyers. Thank you for all who came out and supported the event. All proceeds from the event will go to the American Street Hockey Institute to support the Team USA program.

National Dekhockey Center Grand Opening Tournament

On October 1 & 2, the new National Dekhockey Center in Winchendon, MA will open up with a 4 on 4 tournament for all ages. Cost is $240 per team and proceeds will go to the American Street Hockey Institute towards helping to support the international travel teams.

Team USA Men's and Women's Head to Slovakia

The USA World Street Hockey Teams will be leaving for Bratislava, Slovakia this weekend to compete in the International Street and Ball Hockey Federation World Championships. The tournament runs from June 19 – June 26 and the USA has both a Men’s and Women’s team participating. ASHI wishes them the best in bringing home the gold. Special Olympics World Games 2009
Boise, Idaho, USA

The Floor Hockey competition was held at ExpoCenter in Boise, Idaho, USA on the week of Feb. 7^th – 13^th 2009. With approximately 1,175 athletes from 82 teams representing 70 Special Olympics programs from around the world. The ExpoCenter hosted the Floor Hockey competition World Winter Games with 7 hockey courts using Mylec Hockey goals in each rink. Events offered include Traditional Team Competition (Male), Traditional Team Competition (Female) and Unified Team Competition from Yemen, South Africa, El Salvador, China, Japan, Uruguay, India, Honduras, Spain, Costa Rico, Mexico, Algeria, Poland, Russia, Czech Rep., Greece, Germany, Chile, Kuwait and the United States. Mylec a proud sponsor of the 2009 Special Olympics Floor Hockey competitions and was the only supplier to distribute helmets, shin pads, goalie equipment, sticks and player equipment at the World Winter Games.
